Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Phenomenal original photograph is one that we rarely see as it captures the 1924-25 Montreal Canadiens following their Stanley Cup championship the previous season. As "Champions of the World", the Habs sported uniforms with a world globe on the front and the "CH" logo on the sleeves. Included left to right are better-known Habs Boucher, Morenz, Joliat and Vezina. Odie and Sprague Cleghorn are among the players to the right of Vezina. This important piece as water damage on the right side and creasing over on the left forced the framer to matte out Leo Dandurand at the left and Sylvio Mantha over on the right side of the line-up. Four of the players have been identified on the photo in red ink. Measures 20" x 26" in a newer wood frame under glass.
