Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
The 1921-22 Stanley Cup champion Toronto St. Patricks are pictured in street clothes on a street scene photo that includes the likes of HOFers Babe Dye, Harry Cameron and Reg Noble, who is seated fourth from the left in the front row of this original 20” x 9 1/2" team photo. Obtained from the family of St. Pats defenseman Ken Randall, it comes with its original matte with “St. Patrick’s Professional Hockey Club World’s Champions 1921-2.” in wonderful vintage hand-lettering along the bottom. The photo, which is loose from the included matte, is very nicely preserved overall with a bit of staining along the right edge where a glue repair was attempted on the matte, as well as a small torn bottom right corner and white tape along the top back edge. What a find and worthy of suitable framing! The bottom of the “1921-2.” lettering along the bottom of the matte was erroneously crossed out in pencil and the notation “1922-23” was mistakenly added.
