Home white dureen gamer by Wilson was worn by goaltender Eddie Johnston during the height of the “Big Bad Bruins” dynasty of the early-1970’s. EJ, who remained a member of the Bruins through the 1972-73 season, won two Stanley Cups while sharing the net equally with Hall of Famer Gerry Cheevers in regular season play during Boston’s reign as the NHL’s elite team. In the 1972 playoffs, Johnston led all NHL goalies with six victories and a 1.86 GAA as the Bruins won their second Cup in three years. Wilson tagging sits in the back of the neck of Johnston’s fantastic game-worn jersey from that era. We count three team repairs on this beauty that evokes memories of the heyday of Bobby Orr and Espo dominating the NHL’s awards and leading the Bruins to Lord Stanley’s silver chalice twice. There are sewing fixes on each cuff, and a third repair on the upper yellow band just above the right sleeve’s seam. There is minor stitch popping at the elbow gussets and some solid interior pilling on this great Bruins goalie gamer with a championship era pedigree. Please note that this item may be subject to a silent reserve. More game wear shows in a black mark on the right rear at the side seam, and light reddish brown stains on the right side of the back.
