Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
This 1965-67 Oshawa Generals #6 gamer was worn by future NHL and WHA defenseman Barry Wilkins over the course of the only two seasons the Generals wore this exact style. The first season was 1965-66, when Wilkins played alongside Bobby Orr when Oshawa won the OHA title before losing to the Edmonton Oil Kings in the 1966 Memorial Cup championship. Team photos show Wilkins without the alternate captain’s "A" in 1965-66 and with the "A" in 1966-67. The intricate Generals hub crest on the front has lost a bit of its white felt but has held up very well overall. Measures out to about a size 40 with some seven holes combined on the two sleeves that do not distract from its historic display as the style of gamer worn by Bobby Orr during his final junior hockey season.
Comes with recently printed team photos of the 1965-66 and 1966-67 teams.
