Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
Awesome piece of Edmonton pro hockey history is this 1932-33 WCHL Eskimos game-worn wool jersey worn by Norman “Chubby” Scott. The Eskimos returned pro hockey to Edmonton in 1932-33 with a championship season. Scott is listed as wearing #5 with the Eskimos of the WCHL that season and he wore the same number the following season with the Eskimos in the NWPHL, both according to vintage game programs. “Eskimos” is spelled out in white felt letters sewn on a green on white double felt diagonal patch on the front of this vintage wool creation, and the stylized number 5 on the back is also sewn-on green and white double felt. There is a brown diagonal stain on the lower left rear tail and a couple of black marks on the front of the lower right sleeve. There are some red and green stains on the upper right front with red stains on the upper sleeves and adjacent parts of the upper back, with some green stains to the right of the number on the back. These do not diminish the historic value of this wondrous wool treasure and neither do various holes on the front, back and right sleeve. Comes with a pair of recently printed photos, including a 1932-33 Eskimos team photo and a photo of an individual player.
