Dubbed the “Divine Line” at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics was the trio of John LeClair, Mike Modano and Brett Hull, a threesome that led the tournament in scoring as the surprising U.S.A. squad, with the likes of Leetch, Tkachuk, Chelios, Weight and other superstars also filling the roster, would advance to the final and square off against Canada in the gold medal game. Classic Auctions is proud to present, from the collection of Brett Hull, Brett’s game-worn Team USA jersey from those 2002 Winter Games, tagged in the collar as a Nike (size) “56”, with an “IIHF” patch just below and a “USA Hockey” patch heat-pressed on nearby. Inside the gamer, the fight strap has been cut, and a heat-pressed Nike bar code label is on the inner hem. A nice amount of game marks are scattered about, particularly on the front of the jersey, with some on the right sleeve as well. All outer patches, the crest, numbers, and nameplate are of the sewn-on variety. We’re also delighted to report that we’ve photo-matched this jersey from photos of February 18th, 2002 when the U.S. met Belarus and won 8-1, and which was a game where Hull scored 2 goals and added 2 assists. The jersey is photo-matched to the long black mark below the team crest and the smaller vertical one to the left of the larger one. Simply an outstanding and important game-worn jersey from one of the greatest snipers in the history of the game, Brett Hull, who has also signed the accompanying LOA.
