Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Varied treasures from HOFer Marcel Dionne (ind. 1992), including 4 personal trophies including a lovely 7 ¼” beauty inscribed on one side as “Marcel Dionne First 71-72” (which was his rookie year with the Detroit Red Wings), along with “Miller High Life” on the opposite side. This trophy is as solid as can be with only a slight touch of surface wear. There’s also a “Ligue de Hockey Junior Interprovinciale Champion Compteur” trophy standing 11" high including wood base, in great shape with only some tarnishing to mention. We also have 2 other Dionne trophies, one that measures 13 ½” high with a plaque simple as “M. Dionne”, and another at 15”, with the plaque reading as “The Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy – Leading Scorer OHA Jr. A 1969-70 – Marcel Dionne St. Catherines – 55 goals – 77 assists -132 Points". This trophy needs some tightening up and has an enclosed part that needs to be reattached. Along with these trophies are 2 great photos on cardboard backing, measuring 10 ¾” x 13 ½”, showing a young Marcel Dionne with a slightly older Gordie Howe. There’s also 2 Team Canada 1986 pics from Moscow, measuring 11” x 14” in 16” x 20” mattes, with one signed in beautiful white marker on the matte as “Marcel, Thanks – Alan Eagleson”, and both have Dionne’s signature in bold black marker on the back. Moving along, we have a Team Canada nylon jacket, tagged in the collar as “Shain of Canada”, with the “Team Canada Equipe” “half leaf” patch sewn on the left breast, with the jacket in very nice condition. There are also 4 pennants, all 30” long, with 2 from the 35th All-Star Game on Long Island in 1983, and 2 from the 37th All-Star Game in Calgary in 1985. We also have a pair of Dionne’s game-worn All-Star socks (with a few marks), and Dionne’s 31” Detroit Red Wings wardrobe bag (with “Detroit Red Wings” printed on and Dionne’s name and address, plus boarding passes still attached). One handle has come apart on the bag.
