Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Two early and rare 1930s-40s G-200 Gotham (New York) hockey games offered, each with slightly different colored graphics, with both measuring 11" x 24" and featuring intact handle-controlled metal goalies, with 3 in excellent working order and 1 spinning not quite as well as the others. The colors faded somewhat on these two old gems, slight rusting can be seen along the edges of the metal boards, and the yellow and blue-colored example has a slight bend on one of the sides and some wear on the playing surface. The second G-200, with different fans and player graphics, shows wear and dirt on the playing surface which is slightly detached from the boards on one side. Awesome limited edition "Ebbets Field and the Dodgers Hall of Famers Who Played There" framed lithograph is signed by renowned sports artist Dick Perez. The legendary Jackie Robinson is pictured in one of the 14 insets of Brooklyn Dodgers HOFers such as Campanella, Koufax, Snider, Medwick, Grimes, Wheat, Marquard, Vance, Lopez, MacPhail, Rickey, Stengel and the one and only Uncle Robbie, Wilbert Robinson. These superb portraits surround a rendering of the famous facade of Ebbets Field displayed in the center of the 24x29 litho, which displays to a size of roughly 21" x 27" within a white matte. Magnificently preserved and mounted under glass in a 29" x 34 1/2" wood frame, this wonderfully detailed print comes with vintage Perez-Galleries order card and four-page history of Ebbets Field.
