Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
This lot includes eleven 1940s photos of the Royals at Montreal's Delorimier Stadium (with the names written on most of the backs), plus an 8" x 10" B&W glossy from 1945 of Jean-Pierre Roy. There's also a scarce 1959 Royals souvenir album with card-like pictures of the players (including Tom Lasorda), an empty bag of sugar from the Cuban Sugar Kings when the Cuban team played the Royals at Delorimier in 1958, and a vintage baseball supposedly used by the Korean team against the Royals in the 1940s (with handwritten inscriptions). To note is the 1945 Jean-Pierre Roy 8” x 10” glossy, which shows a series of creases. The 11 B&W 1940s photos of the Royals each measure 5” x 7” and remain in terrific condition aside from a few corner creases, the 1959 Royals souvenir album measures 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, with 12 pages of paper stock with two players pictures on each page and has been preserved in wonderful condition with only some small evidence of cover handling and age yellowing to mention. Lastly, written on the Korean ball in ballpoint pen is "Korean Baseball Team" and "Nicaragua Velazquez".
