Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Wooden gamers wielded by New York Islanders players in the 1990s offered, from four defencemen Bryan McCabe, Bryan Berard, Darius Kasparaitis, and Scott Lachance, and forward Benoit Hogue. McCabe’s Koho has some somewhat unusual quirks to mention – along with his original black tape on the blade and white knob tape, there are also thin strips of white and black tape winding up the shaft which has been painted black. The handle on this gamer has been shaved slightly, and nice game wear is evident throughout. McCabe has signed near the heel with clear blue marker, near the top of the shaft is a stamped “McCabe”, and on the knob is a handwritten “4”. Bryan Berard’s Koho has original black blade tape and white knob tape, marks and some paint chipping are on the shaft, while “Berard” is stamped near the top and “81 3” looks to be handwritten near the bottom. Berard has signed on the blade with thin-tipped white marker. Darius Kasparaitis’ black Victoriaville has original black blade tape and white knob tape, with marks and chips on the shaft which also has “Kasparaitis” stamped near the top and hard-to-read numbers near the bottom. Kasparaitis has signed in clear silver marker near the heel. Scott Lachance’s Vic gamer has had part of the blade tape removed and has signed the open spot with bold and blue marker. On the original knob tape is a handwritten “7”, and “Lachance” is stamped near the top and numbers “904 14” near the bottom. Benoit Hogue’s Victoriaville has original black taped blade and knob, the lower part of the blade has been painted black, and “B Hogue” is stamped on the shaft. The handle has been shaved a touch, and just below is a handwritten “33”. Nice collection of 5 gamers from Islanders players of the 1990s.
