Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Fine assortment of game-used equipment from Czech-born forward Vaclav Prospal when he was skating for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2000s, including his game-used stick and gloves from circa 2002-03 when he tallied 79 points in 80 games, along with helmet and visor from circa 2007-08 with 57 points in 62 games under his belt. The tape has been removed from the blade, which is cracked, and Prospal has signed in silver marker with parts of his signature now faded or worn off. Game marks run up the shaft, past the printed-on “Prospal”, to the original white taped handle where a handwritten “20” is marked on. Prospal’s game-worn Easton/Lightning gloves remain in great, hole-free condition that show scuffing and marks, along with “Prospal” printed on each cuff. His black size 55-59 cm/6 7/8-7 3/8 Reebok helmet, in great shape with just some scuffing and minor nicks to mention, has his number “20” affixed to the back, while Lightning stickers are on both sides along with a single NHL sticker. The inside padding is intact, and a Reebok label contains the production date “Oct. 24, 2005”. Along with Prospal's equipment is a pair of Lightning game-used pants complete with the cool lightning bolt stripe down each side and the partially embroidered “Tampa Bay Lightning” patch on the right leg. On the inside CCM label is a handwritten size “L”, along with a handwritten “4”, although we can’t say with any certainty that these belonged to Vincent Lecavalier. Terrific assortment of Prospal/Lightning game-used equipment from an era that saw the Lightning capture the Stanley Cup in 2004 and from Prospal who racked up over 1100 regular season games in the NHL.
