Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
On February 20, 2011, the Flames and Canadiens clashed in front of 41,022 fans at McMahon Stadium in Calgary in the NHL's second Heritage Classic, with the Flames' Rene Bourque scoring twice in Calgary's 4-0 win over the Habs. Offered is Bourque's game-worn Flames jersey from this event, worn during the first period by Bourque when he scored his first marker. Tagged in the collar as a size "56" with a handwritten "17" just above, this 1920s replica jersey of the Calgary Tigers has the "Heritage Classic" patch sewn on the right breast, while the Flames crest shows some light puckering. Sewn on the inside hem is a "MeiGray" registration patch with numbers that match the included LOA signed by representatives of the NHL and MeiGray.
