Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Classy, well-spoken, and extremely talented HOFer Pat Lafontaine (ind. 2003) wielded this Sher-Wood PMP 5030 lumber probably in the 1984-85 playoffs, with the date stamped midway up the shaft as “10 Avr. 1985”. The ’84-85 campaign was his first full season in the NHL which saw him garner 54 points in 67 games as a young member of the New York Islanders. Featuring Pat’s original black tape on the blade and white on the handle, this wooden gamer shows a couple of small rips in the blade tape, marks line the shaft, and “Lafontaine 16” is stamped on the upper part of the shaft. Definitely a nice game-used stick from a great star who would retire following the 1997-98 season while with the New York Rangers, with 1013 points racked up in 865 regular season games.
