Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

What a nice variety of sticks from the Montreal Canadiens offered, beginning with a Mario Tremblay game-used VIC with Mario’s original few strands of black tape on the blade and 9” of black on the handle. This gamer, with light marks on the blade but heavy marks on the shaft, has “M. Tremblay” stamped on the upper shaft along with a handwritten “14” in green marker. We have a game-used “Louisville” goalie stick, handled by Habs netminder Steve Penney, with his original white tape on the blade and handle and signed in blue ballpoint pen by Penney on the upper shaft, while handwritten on the knob tape is “23 Oct. ’84 Can. 3, Nor 1”. Also included in this fab four is a game-issued Guy Lafleur “Sher-Wood”, with this tape-free and mark-free stick in excellent condition and with “G. Lafleur 10” stamped on the upper shaft and the date “22 Nov. 1984” stamped midway down. And lastly, a game-issued John Kordic Sher-Wood, with “Kordic 31” stamped on the upper shaft, “Club de Hockey Canadien 1987-88” handwritten in green marker on the blade, and with the shaft signed in clear and perfectly legible blue ballpoint pen by approximately 20 players including Smith, Roy, Lalor, Carbonneau, Svoboda, Gainey (2), McPhee, Corson, Dahlin, Walter, Charbonneau, Richer, Hayward, Chelios, Robinson, Skrudland, Green, Ludwig, and one other.
