Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Supremely gifted Chris Chelios, drafted by the Montreal Canadiens where he would eventually earn a Norris Trophy in the late-1980s, was sent to Chicago in a swap for Denis Savard, and it was in Chicago where (a) he picked up two more Norris’, and (b)he used this Sher-Wood we’re offering here! This Chelios gamer has its original black tape on both the blade and the knob, and along with marks and a bit of paint chipping scattered throughout, has “Chelios” stamped on the upper part of the shaft, while close to the blade, the great defenceman has signed in clear black marker as “To Donna, Best Wishes, Chris Chelios 7”. Also near the bottom of the shaft is a stamped “Chicago”. A tremendously fine player was Chris Chelios, who played an incredible 25 seasons, 1651 games, and when all was said and done, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013 for his efforts. A great chance to own a game-used stick wielded by this amazing fellow.
