Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
When one looks at the elite defencemen of the 1970s and early-1980s, the names Orr, Potvin, Robinson, Brad Park and a small scattering of others jump to the forefront, the best of the best, players who would undoubtedly rule the roost in any generation. From Brad Park, one of the finest d-men not named Orr, we offer a game-used stick from his 1979-80 campaign, during the height of his brilliance, with his wooden “Canadien” gamer showing small remnants of tape on his now untaped blade, and with his original white and worn knob tape remaining. “Park” is stamped below the knob, along with a handwritten “22”, and midway down the shaft, which is lined with marks, is stamped “6 Mars 1980”. Just an excellent, crack-free twig from a great player who, along with being one of the finest of his generation, also starred in the classic 1972 Canada-Russia Summit Series and would be inducted into the HOF in 1988.
