Kent Nilsson led the Flames in all scoring categories with 40 goals, 53 assists and 93 points when he made his NHL debut in the team's final season in Atlanta. Mr. Magic's 1979-80 Flames game-worn jersey has Russell Athletic size L tagging in the back of the neck and a loop-style fight strap. The Flaming A crest, numbers on the sleeves and back and stripes on the sleeves heat screened vinyl, as are the red and white bands on the bottom of the sweater yellow fabric hem sewn onto the bottom of the red mesh jersey. This fabulous red mesh gamer shows solid wear including a big team repair on the right front tail, black marks on the tails and sleeves and plenty of marks on the vinyl bands on the sleeve. Nilsson’s surname is spelled out in white and gold double twill letters sewn on a red mesh nameplate. The sleeves have sewn-on stretchy knit red fabric cuffs, which display black marks, board burns and unrepaired burn holes.
Now you know: Nilson, who was the Flames’ lone representative at the 1980 NHL All-Star Game in the franchise’s final season in Atlanta, was the last former Atlanta Flames player to play in the NHL when he scored one goal in six games for the Edmonton Oilers in 1994-95.
