Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Team Sweden would beat the Germans 5-2 on August 31, 2004 at Stockholm's Globe Arena in World Cup action that year, and HOFer Mats Sundin (ind. 2012), who was a Toronto Maple Leaf in his regular job, suited up for the Swedish squad. We have Mats' game-worn captain's jersey from the Sweden-Germany game, tagged in the collar as a "Nike (size) 58", with an "IIHF" patch just below. Sewn on the left breast is a Swedish Ice Hockey patch, plus a "2004 World Cup of Hockey" patch. On the outer hem is an "IIHF" patch while on the inside hem is a small date tag and a screened-on Nike bar code tag. Game marks include a scattering on the upper left front as well as on both sleeves. A great game-worn Sundin/Sweden World Cup jersey, worn just prior to the lockout that wiped out the NHL season.
