Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

On February 23rd 2014, Canada and Sweden faced-off in the gold medal game for men's hockey at the Sochi Olympics. Our consignor, working for the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), was assuming his duties and was in his working area located between the two penalty boxes. With about 14:13 or so remaining in the 2nd period, Jakob Silfverberg of Sweden shot the puck over the boards which bounced-off the back glass panel and was caught by our consignor which is visible on the televised feed a few moments later. Now, the chance to own this very puck is yours. A puck used in the men's gold medal game. Imagine. Featuring a screened-on and fully intact "Sochi Gold Medal Game" logo on one side and "XXII Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014" on the reverse, this display piece extraordinaire shows minor scuffing from game use but no edge chipping or major scratching. Canada would capture gold on that winter day in Sochi, blanking the Swedes 3-0 on goals from Jonathan Toews, Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz, and with Carey Price in goal and an incredible ensemble of blueliners shutting the door. Overall, a team that dominated with defence from the opening game of the tourney to the final one when this little black biscuit was part of the action. A wonderful one-of-a-kind memento, a game-used puck from the gold medal game, and one that will come with an LOA from our consignor.
