Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Talk about a wondrous opportunity to score a 1961 York Peanut Butter "Gordie Howe" glass from York's second year of producing these cool tumblers that originally were filled with peanut butter. The first set of York glasses, issued a year earlier, were made by the Federal Glass Company and showed an "F" at the bottom. The '61-62 edition, of which this Howe glass is from, was made by Dominion Glass, has a "D" engraved on the bottom, and measures 4-3/4" by 2-1/2", a tad taller and narrower than the ones issued a year earlier. The full set of '61-62 glasses totaled 11 – 4 Toronto, 4 Montreal, and 4 Detroit, and this Howe example from the set has been preserved in magnificent condition, with no marks, paint chipping, or flaws of any sort.
