One of the hockey immortals featured in Imperial Tobacco card sets of the day, Art Ross was a star defenceman forging his legend the winter some smoker became the original owner of this treasure. Ross turned 26 in January of 1912 and was lighting it up himself, en route to scoring 16 goals in 18 games with the NHA's Montreal Wanderers, a team he had previously helped to the Stanley Cup. Card #31 here displays well and is free of any unsightly or even visible creases, with corner and edge wear rendering it VG in the eyes of PSA. A prerequisite to an important tobacco card collection.
