Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Oh, to own the highest graded PSA Howie Morenz Maple Crispette card in history! That tantalizing thought and the icon’s mesmerizing look into the camera’s lense here are spellbinding, aren’t they?! The young Morenz was a defending Stanley Cup champion at the time, having led, with linemates Aurele Joliat and Billy Boucher, Montreal to hockey’s ultimate prize in the spring of 1924, following his first NHL regular season. Discovered in a product put out by Montreal’s Maple Crispette Company, this card has miraculously survived in almost like-new condition, PSA awarding it a mark of NM 7. It is one of just six total Maple Crispette cards, (all players combined – 445 cards as of this writing), to receive such recognition, with the PSA Population Report revealing only one card ever scoring higher; a NM-MT 8 Ken Randall card #24. Morenz was #1 of his era and this Howie, the key card and most valuable in the Maple Crispette set, is #1 all-time at PSA – sensational!
