Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
They've signed on napkins, pictures, and papers of different sizes, and what a wonderful collection of early-1970s hockey autographs, many Buffalo Sabres-related, from a family who had Sabres season tickets at the time. Truly awesome is this autograph collection that includes sigs from Tim Horton, Roger Neilson, Brian Spencer, Dave Keon, Maurice Richard, Marcel Pronovost, Gordie Howe (cut paper and 8" x 10"), Roger Crozier, Marcel Dionne, Jim Schoenfeld, Danny Gare, and an 8 1/2" x 11" Sabres thin cardboard sheet with signatures from Neilson, Rick Martin, Danny Gare, Gilbert Perreault, Larry Playfair, Don Edwards, Don Luce, Tony McKegney, Robert Sauve, and approximately 12 others. Many of the signatures are dated, including Tim Horton’s, which is written on the back of the 2 3/4” x 3 1/2” cut as “3-16-73". Horton would die in a car accident just a year later, on Feb. 21, 1974. The autographs are all nicely signed, and Gordie Howe’s example on an 8” x 10” glossy is terrific in blue marker, as is his 2 3/4” x 4 1/2” cut. Maurice Richard’s, also on a cut, is signed in pencil. Other signatures in this huge lot include Jocelyn Guevremont, several more of Rick Martin, plus Norm Gratton, Tracy Pratt, Phil Myre, Larry Carriere, Steve Shutt, Ron Schock, Mike Foligno, Lindy Ruff, Jim Lorentz, Claude Larose, Doug Favell, Fred Stanfield, Brian Cullen, Keith McCreary, Steve Vickers, Lee Fogolin, Peter McNabb, and a host of others.
