Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Four-time Stanley Cup champ Butch Goring began a long coaching career when his playing days were over, and he would eventually find himself in the German Ice Hockey League, first with the Frankfurt Lions in 2001-02, then two seasons with the Krefeld Penguins, and finally, one campaign with DEG Metro Stars. It was Goring’s first season with Krefeld, 2002-03, where he proceeded to lead his new team to the German championship, and we have Goring’s trophy from that winning season. Standing 10 3/4” high and 7 1/2” wide at the base, this glass trophy reads as “2003 Deutscher Meister” with a mounted puck reading as “DEL 2003 Playoffs”. This trophy, in wonderful, scratch and nick-free condition, comes with an LOA from Goring.
