Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

They play a great brand of hockey on the Canadian prairies, it’s always been that way, and none more so than in the 1960s when the junior Brandon Wheat Kings, St. Boniface Canadiens, and three Winnipeg teams – the Monarchs, Rangers, and Braves clashed on cold winter nights. We’ve got a cool sterling ring from the league’s 1961-62 campaign, with the red, white and blue enamelled tableau shield displaying “MJHL” along with a stick and puck, while on the sides of the tableau are engraved (and slightly faded) “61” and “62”. Preserved in fine condition, this size 9 ring has been slightly shaped over the years from the owner wearing it, shows normal scuffing and slight scratching, and some darkening has occurred around the shield, but all in all remains truly nice and ready to wear.
