A couple of vintage Blueshirts programs on tap here, including a 1927-28 Madison Square Garden example which legendary Bruins d-man Eddie Shore has signed on the cover in clear blue fountain pen ink. With approximately 64 pages intact, but with no lineup page so we can’t be exactly sure who the Rangers’ opponent was that night, we’re assuming it was the Bruins because of Shore’s autograph. The Bruins were at the Garden 3 times in ’27-28 – Nov. 27, Jan, 12, and Feb, 19, and because the program gives stats for the previous season, there’s a strong possibility this one’s from November 27th, 1927. Aside from the lineup page missing, the program shows some creasing, general wear, and a couple of pieces of tape on the spine but overall remains in good condition. From the 1934-35 campaign is a larger Madison Square Garden program measuring 8 ½” x 11” and containing 48 pages but also missing the lineup page. Regardless, it’s in nice condition aside from a corner tear on the back cover and some wear on the spine and cover edges. Always fascinating reads are vintage programs. Great glimpses into days gone by.
