Czech superstar Jaromir Jagr's 500th NHL goal puck is the centerpiece of this fantastic framed display. Jaromir scored a natural hat trick against Tampa Bay's John Grahame on February 4, 2003, hitting the milestone with his third goal of the game at 7:19 of the second period in Washington's 5-1 road win at St. Pete Times Forum. Jagr reached 500 goals in his 923rd game to become the 16th player in NHL history to reach the mark in fewer than 1,000 games. The puck was gifted by Jagr to our consignor in January 2004 in appreciation for his work prior to the Czech superstar's trade to the New York Rangers. Our consignor was the Washington Capitals' stick boy from 2001 to 2004 and he personally attests that the frame (wood), glass, gold plaques and score sheets are all original to when Jagr received it from the Capitals in a pre-game ceremony. The puck is displayed in its original 25 1/2" x 30 1/2" shadow box display case which also displays copies of the original official scoresheets from Jagr's first NHL goal on October 7, 1990 and his four-point game the night he recorded his 500th goal. This historic piece comes with an LOA. Our consignor recalls that 500th goal puck was originally given to Capitals equipment manager Doug Shearer, who then gave it to Caps media relations manager Brian Potter who coordinated getting the puck mounted. On the lower backside of the framed puck is a sticker with the name and phone number of the frame shop the Washington Capitals used for their special framing needs such as mounting pucks for 1st NHL Goals, 1st NHL Points, etc.
