Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Super cool lot that includes 8 ticket stubs featuring 6 vintage Maple Leaf Gardens stubs, a Detroit Olympia stub and an Argos-Ti-Cats stub, plus an empty pack of Maple Leaf Gardens “Home of the World Champions” matches, an original Gardens ticket envelope, and a Maple Leaf Gardens unsigned form letter to a ticket subscriber from May 19, 1967. Looking at these individually, we have a 1955 “Ted Kennedy Night” stub from the Gardens, a March 23, 1956 stub when Detroit beat the Leafs 5-3 and Gordie Howe won the scoring title, a Gardens stub from the 1955-56 campaign that saw the Detroit beat Toronto 5-4, a Nov. 22, 1957 stub when the Russians made their first-ever appearance at Maple Leaf Gardens and the Whitby Dunlops beat them 7-2, a pair of stubs from March 16, 1963 when the Leafs blanked the Hawks 3-0, a CFL stub from an Argos-Hamilton game at Varsity Stadium and a vintage ticket stub from the Detroit Olympia. The vintage Gardens ticket envelope is from an unknown date, and the Maple Leaf Gardens letter has some pencil handwriting on the side, and has fold creases.
