Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
From hockey immortal Jacques Plante’s last season of junior hockey before joining the Montreal Royals senior team comes this delectable team photo of the 1948-49 Quebec Citadelles. The toque-wearing Plante is standing in the middle of the second row, in back of team captain Butch Houle. This great old photo, with a few creases including one running down the middle, measures approximately 7-1/2” by 13 1/2”, and also includes assistant captain Jackie Leclair. Photo Moderne” is stamped on the back. We also have a Citadelles 20-page program from the 1949-50 campaign, measuring 7 ¾” x 11” and featuring a young fellow named Jean Beliveau who in a few short years would be lacing ‘em up and starring for the Montreal Canadiens. This program is complete and intact but is of delicate nature with the cover still attached but must be handled with care.
