Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Truly a juggernaut were the Toronto Maple Leafs of the early-'60s, winning 3 straight Cups in '62, '63, and '64, with a team full of legendary stars like Keon, Pulford, Armstrong, and of course the Big M, Frank Mahovlich, who in 1961 had notched 48 goals and led in team in points in '62 and '63, and was second in team scoring in the '63-64 campaign. We have Frank's game-worn early-'60s CCM Tacks, with "27" painted in white on each skate, "Big M" is handwritten in black under each skate, and along with tons of game wear including scuffing and nicks is a team repair on the left skate. Also to note is vintage clear tape covering the blade of each. Truly important gamers from the HOFer (ind. 1981), and comes with Frank's signed LOA on "The Senate of Canada" letterhead which says it's the '62-63 campaign when these were worn.
