Bill Durnan, Maurice "Rocket" Richard and Toe Blake are among the six deceased HOFers whose vintage autographs appear along one side of the shaft of this 1943-44 Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup champions team-signed stick by 16. Buddy O’Connor, Emile "Butch" Bouchard and legendary coach Dick Irvin have also signed and Elmer Lach makes it a complete Punch Line and seven HOFers in all. Richard has signed low on the shaft while the Bouchard, Durnan and Irvin sigs are clear high on the shaft. The Canadiens went an amazing 38-5-7 during the regular season and won 8 of 9 playoff games against Toronto and Chicago to claim the Cup. Tape jobs remain intact and handwritten on the knob is "5", which was not worn by a Habs player that season. Others who have signed include Harmon, Getliffe, Heffernan, Majeau, Lamoureux, Fillion, McMahon, Harmon and Gerry McNeil, who was 17 at the time and playing for the Habs’ farm team, the Montreal Royals, while serving as an extra goalie for Canadiens scrimmages.
