Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

The legendary Maurice "Rocket" Richard wore this classic tie-neck Montreal Canadiens #9 wool captain's sweater while playing oldtimers hockey in the late-1960s! This beauty features v-shaped shoulder yokes that run down to the number sewn above the sleeve stripes and reinforced elbows. The Rocket's iconic number is sewn on the back and both sleeves in white and blue double twill, as is the captain's C on the left breast. The Habs' CH logo crest on the front is red, white and blue triple twill. "Dry Clean With Care" reads the flag tag sewn inside the left hip seam. The lace in the neck was replaced at some point and is not original to the jersey. This Richard oldtimers gamer saw plenty of duty with black marks on the front, an unrepaired hole above the CH crest and a few other holes that do not diminish its display. There are a few gray/green stains on the left front below the blue and white band, as well as on the left side and left sleeve above the cuff.
