Rangers great Harry Howell's 1965 and 1967 NHL All-Star Game gifts are featured in this lot from the HOF defenseman's personal collection. A carving set from the 1965 ASG comes in its original presentation box with Howell's name embossed on the cover, as does a set of six steak knives from the 1967 ASG. Also featured is an alarm clock presented "To Harry Howell, The Ranger's Fan Club, 1963" along with Howell's signed 1952 income tax return, a pair of Madison Square Garden programs from the Rangers' 1968-69 season, one of which is signed by Howell, an early-1950s Biltmore Mad Hatters hockey team tie clip, a gold-colored personal golf tee with Harry's inititial on it and a vintage small artwork of Howell in his Rangers uniform. Comes with Harry Howell's signed LOA. Howell’s 1965 All-Star game gift features a three-piece stainless steel carving set with bone handles in its original case with gold lettering on the cover that reads, “Nineteenth Annual NHL All-Star Game – Montreal 1965” with Harry’s full name in the bottom right corner. Nicely preserved with a few small stains on the cover which exhibits some handling.
Howell’s 1967 All-Star Game gift features six stainless steel steak knives on a blue box with white polka dots and gold lettering that reads “Twentieth Annual NHL All-Star Game – Montreal 1967” with Harry’s full name in the bottom right corner. Very nicely preserved.
Gold-colored alarm clock has a face that measures about 4x6. “Seth Thomas, Eight Day” appears on the lower part of the face with “Germany” at the bottom. The engraving appears on the 2x6 gold-colored top panel.
Howell signed and dated “April 25, 1953” his Canadian Individual Income Tax Return T1 Short for 1952 which is stapled to the front of his other tax documents for that year including his assessment notice and his U.S. Nonresident Alien Income Tax Return that he has filled out in pencil, including his name and address at the top.
Howell has signed in bold blue marker on the cover of a Rangers vs. Montreal Canadiens MSG program dated Friday, September 27, 1968.
The other MSG program is from the Rangers vs. Canadiens game on Saturday, March 9, 1969.
