This amazing Panerai luxury wristwatch was presented to Hall of Fame defenseman Harry Howell by the New York Rangers to commemorate his jersey retirement on February 22, 2009. This is the Panerai Luminor GMT PAM 244 watch Howell received at an unforgettable ceremony at Madison Square Garden when the 1966-67 Norris Trophy winner's number 3 jersey was retired along with longtime Rangers teammate Andy Bathgate's number 9. "NYR #3" is engraved on the left side of this prestigious Panerai wristwatch as well as on the case back, which is also engraved with the date of Howell's jersey retirement ceremony. The watch sits in its original Officine Panerai presentation box with the "A tribute to Andy Bathgate/Harry Howell Legendary Blue February 22, 2009" plaque on the lid featuring the Rangers team crest logo. Howell replaced the original wristband with a Panerai stainless steel band at a cost of $3,051 in 2011. That invoice is included along with the watch's documentation inside the box. Spectacular Rangers team gift to one of their most legendary defensemen comes with Harry Howell's signed LOA. The last three lines on the case back display its case number (OP 6702), serial number (BB 1255585), and the year designator and production number J525/800, with the letter “J” representing 2007 and the numbers indicating that the watch is number 525 out of a production of 800. The case back indicates the watch is waterproof to a depth of 300 metres. The lidded box measures 7 1/4" x 7 1/4" and stands 3 1/2" tall.
