Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
A sheet signed by 21 Vancouver Canucks players from the franchise's inaugural season, 1970-71 highlights this huge collection of Canucks items totalling more than 82 in all. Also from the same '70-'71 first season we have a framed team picture (11" x 13"), plus a framed team picture from their 2nd season (1971-72) measuring 10 1/2" x 12 1/2". We carry on with 31 Canucks programs from the 1971-72 season, with all but 1 complete and in truly nice condition, plus 2 media guides from the Canucks first 2 seasons (the '70-'71 edition has a few ink marks on the cover). Others in the lot include 2 training camp guides from those first 2 years, plus schedules, shareholder and mags, a Dec. 28, 1971 Canucks intra-squad game program, an inaugural charter member's certificate, photos, early negatives and more. Only the Oct. 24, 1971 program from the lot of 31 programs from the ’71-72 season has the lineup page missing, from one of the nights Boston was in town. This program also has a faint crease from top to bottom, but in general, all 31 programs have been preserved in excellent condition. The sheet of signed autographs which measures 6 ½” x 9 ½” includes the likes of Orland Kurtenbach, Andre Boudrias, Dale Tallon, Bobby Schmautz, Mike Corrigan, Charlie Hodge, Dan Johnson, Murray Hall, Pat Quinn, Rosaire Paiement, Bary Wilkins, Gary Doak, Ted Taylor, John Schella, Garth Rizzuto, Gary Doak, Bill Hay, George Gardner, Dunc Wilson, and Wayne Maki, who would pass away in 1974. Signatures were signed using blue ballpoint pen, and all in wonderful condition. The 2 training camp guides from ’70-’71 and ’71-’72 are also very cool and are in excellent condition.
