From the attic we go for a veritable cornucopia of sports-related literature, so if you’re looking for lots of reading material, you’ve come to the right place. From ex-NHLer Pierre Bouchard we have 9 different sets of 1990s NHL media guides totaling almost 250. There are boxes of other guides in various sizes, hardcover books, reams of 1990s game notes, stats, press releases etc from when Pierre was a member of the RDS TV team, plus tons of mags and Hockey News. Also included is a fascinating group of Rick Vaive Team Canada photos and signed literature from Alan Eagleson to Vaive, including a note, letter, and photo. In this huge lot are NHL team media guides in the official NHL cases where they belong, and include 17 from 1989-90, 20 from 1991-92, 49 from 1993-94, 25 from 1995-96, 25 from 1996-97, 25 from 1997-98, 25 from 1998-99, and 30 from 1999-2000. We also have approximately 100 various team media guides in magazine form, 56 assorted guides in digest form, 14 NHL Guide & Record Books, 10 baseball guides, a handful of books including Ken Dryden’s “The Game” in both French and English, a French version of “Kordic”, and an English copy of Russ Conway’s fascinating “Game Misconduct”, and more. Also included is a huge stack of various 1990s NHL league stat sheets, handwritten game notes, press releases, RDS TV game and research sheets, 8 1990s Bouchard media passes, baseball guides, approximately 250 “Hockey News” from the late 1990s, and from the 1985 World Championships in Prague when Canada won silver, 50- 5” x 7” colored photos of Rick Vaive in Prague, a laminated Vaive pass, a photo of Vaive signed by Alan Eagleson, a small handwritten “thank you” note to Vaive from Eagleson, and a typed Hockey Canada letter to Vaive signed by Eagleson who also includes a handwritten line of thanks. Rounding things out are three big boxes of various magazines including Sports Illustrated, People, National Lampoon, Paris Match, Car and Driver, and boating magazines from the ‘70s, 80s, and 90s.
