The Toronto Blue Jays had so much fun winning the World Series in 1992 that they did it all over again in 1993! Offered are a pair of Blue Jays World Series 14K gold and diamond rings from the Canadian team's back-to-back championships in 1992 and 1993. HOFer Dave Winfield delivered the key blow as the Jays became the first non-American team to win the World Series in 1992 when they conquered the Atlanta Braves in six games. Toronto remained atop the baseball world one year later when Joe Carter's dramatic ninth-inning home run at SkyDome gave the Jays a come-from-behind win over the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 6 that sealed a second straight World Series title. Each of these 1992 and 1993 World Series Blue Jays front office rings by Tiffany was presented to Doug Barr, the team's director of ticket operations.
The Blue Jays' first World Series ring features 17 diamonds set on the tableau, with a large one serving as the bird's eye in the team logo with a red enamel Canadian maple leaf, and 16 smaller diamonds surrounding it. "World Champions 1992" is spelled out in raised gold around the bezel. The left shank displays the team name across the top in relief with the 1992 World Series logo below it and "Canada's 1st" in raised gold at the bottom. "Barr" is spelled out across the top of the right shank with the American League logo below it and "4,023,318" at the bottom in recognition of the Jays' all-tie major league record attendance record.
The Jays' second World Series ring displays 46 diamonds on the tableau, including one large one as the birds-eye on the team logo with two-tone blue enamel paint which is superimposed over a second logo. A total of 45 smaller diamonds are set around the two team logos, which both have red enamel Canadian maple leafs representing the Jays' the back-to-back titles. "World Champions 1993" is spelled out in raised gold around the bezel. The left shank displays the team name across the top in relief with the 1993 World Series logo below it and "Back-to-Back 92-93" at the bottom. "Barr" is spelled out across the top of the right shank with the American League logo below it.
Both rings are stamped "Tiffany & Co 14K 585" inside their respective size 9 1/2 bands and each has a total weight of about 35 grams. The two rings are both nicely preserved, each with surface scratches from proud wear that are not apparent at first glance. Each ring comes with a Tiffany's letter of appraisal and signed letters from Doug Barr transferring the ownership of the rings from when he originally sold them.
