They finished the regular season one point shy of the Ottawa Senators for first place in the East, garnering 112 points along the way, and in the playoffs they showed it was no fluke, as the Carolina Hurricanes would hoist the 2006 Stanley Cup after besting the Edmonton Oilers in seven games. Offered is a Hurricanes 10K White gold Stanley Cup ring, presented to Rick Dunning from the 'Canes front office, and what a gorgeous bauble this is. Weighing about 40 grams, with real diamonds on the tableau along with dark blue baguette-cut sapphires and dark violet-red Burmese rubies, this size 9 beauty has one shank featuring the Stanley Cup made from diamonds, with "Carolina Hurricanes" above the Cup, while the opposite shank shows the Hurricanes logo with "Dunning" at the top and "2006" at the bottom. Engraved on the inner band is "Intergold" & "14K". This Cup ring shows only slight evidence of wear with tiny edge markings, and comes with a Certificate of Appraisal from Intergold, along with a gorgeous and original presentation box measuring 5" x 8" x 2 1/2". [red] Addendum; The description mentions that the ring is engraved on the inner band with "Intergold" & "14K", it should have read "10K" as in the item's title and as shown on the photo of the markings on the inner band on this listing.[/red]
