Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
From Richard Zednik, a player as well known for a gruesome on-ice accident as for his fine career which saw him garner 379 points in 745 regular season games. Offered is Zednik’s 2003-04 vintage-style game-worn jersey with the nice “V” patch adorning the right breast and “A” on the opposite side. This gamer shows marks on the front, along with light marks on the left sleeve, as well as on the back number. A “2003-04 MeiGray” registry patch is sewn on the inside hem. Zednik wore this vintage-style jersey against the Leafs on Jan. 24, 2004. It would be four years after wearing this gamer that Zednik, while playing for the Florida Panthers, almost died on-ice after having his external carotid artery slashed with an errant skate blade, leaving a pool of blood and a hushed crowd. He would survive, although it ended his season, and he would return for one more year in Florida before moving overseas. [red] Addendum; Comes with an NHLPA LOA.[/red]
