Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Game-worn skates from Alexander the Great. Now that's hockey! Worn by Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin, these CCM Crazy Light boots with the Tuuk Lightspeed 2 holders and LS3 blades show excellent game-wear with boot scuffing and toe nicks, along with black marks on various parts of the blade, plus a sizable cut from what appears to be an enemy skate blade is to mention on the left skate. Standing out are Ovechkin's distinctive yellow laces, and on the bottom of each skate are number "8" stickers. Manufactured front and centre into each tongue and twice on the heel of both boots is a stylized logo featuring his number 8, and placed on the top of the heel of each boot are the names of Ovie's two brothers, Misha and Sergey. Sergey died in a car accident when Alex was 10. Terrific game-used skates from one of hockey's greatest modern-day stars.
