Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

Defenceman David Woodley played just 10 games during the 1972-73 campaign with the San Diego Gulls of the old Western Hockey League, but while he was there, he made sure his jersey was in the thick of things. Tagged in the collar as an Olympic Size 46, this home white Durene gamer with laced neck has blue single twill letters sewn onto a white nameplate, with blue-on-orange double twill number 26 sewn on the back and on both sleeves, along with individually sewn-on blue-on-orange double twill letters spelling "Gulls" on the front. A washed-out washing instructions tag is sewn into the rear hem. Pad stains are noticeable on each shoulder, marks are scattered about on both front and back and on both sleeves, and there is evidence of a number change, with this gamer at one time being number 1. The crest, nameplate, and numbers show extensive puckering as well. All in all a great game-worn jersey from a career minor leaguer playing for a team that was in existence from 1966 to 1974.
