Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

Andy Van Hellemond was no ordinary NHL referee. He kept things in line on the ice for three decades, was a respected and household name, and for his efforts was inducted into the HOF in 1999 along with another big-leaguer who earned his own share of respect, Wayne Gretzky. This is Van Hellemond's game-worn referee jersey from the circa early-1980s, when he was already more than a ten-year veteran, and features his name spread across the back in white tackle twill on a black nameplate, and which helped unruly fans to yell at him. This gamer has a tag in the collar from "The Tease Knitting Company", has some small marks above the back hem and on left shoulder, with slight signs of pilling. And of course the embroidered NHL crest adorns the breast. An awesome gamer from a true HOFer.
