Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

A great striped game-worn jersey from the early-1970s, with number 4 sewn on the back. At different stages in this early part of the decade, four legendary zebras, Bill Friday, Bruce Hood, Ron Wicks, and Wally Harris all pulled number 4 over their heads to go out, blow whistles, and listen to players, coaches, and fans help them do their difficult job. This beauty is tagged "Gerry Crosby Madison Square Garden" in the collar, and the wool jersey, along with the classic NHL crest sewn on the breast, shows solid puckering on the round crest on the back bearing number 4. During the 1969-70 season, Bill Friday wore number 4, followed by Bruce Hood in '70-71 and '71-72. Ron Wicks was next with number 4 for three seasons, 1972-73, '73-74, and '74-75, and finally, Wally Harris during the 1975-76 season. Simply an awesome ref's jersey in wonderful condition, even with the mayhem surrounding these fellows on each and every game night.
