Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

From the Pittsburgh Penguins' last season of the team's original two-tone blue colour scheme comes Blair Chapman's game-worn mesh jersey, tagged in the collar as a Stall & Dean with washing instructions, along with Size "52" and year "9" flag tags just below. A white stretchy knit waist is to note, with the team's crest and numbers on the back and sleeves being rubberized, while the "Chapman" letters are sewn-on twill on a wide mesh nameplate. Inside the jersey is the double garter fight strap. Game-wear is noticeable on the front and back waist and also on the right sleeve plus red paint transfer is also noticeable on the right sleeve. Jersey most likely saw action in pre-season as well. A classic Pens gamer for sure! Chapman was chosen second overall by the Pens in the 1976 NHL Draft, but after three full seasons in the bigs, he played just one game in 1979-80 for the Pens before ending up with the Blues where he revitalized his career, beginning with a 25-goal campaign and followed by a 20-goal season. All in all, he punched the clock for 402 regular season NHL games, collecting 231 points along the way.
