Six-time Stanley Cup champion and 1958-59 Calder Trophy winner Ralph Backstrom played in three WHA All-Star Games at the end of his stellar career. Offered is Backstrom's East Division All-Stars game-worn jersey from his final WHA All-Star game in Hartford in 1977 along with an official 1977 All-Star Game program and ticket. White light mesh affair has Cosby tagging in the back of the neck and Backstrom's surname letters in blue twill sewn directly onto the back of the jersey. Numbers on the back and sleeves are sewn-on double twill and the shoulder yoke is blue mesh while everything else is screened on. Game wear includes black marks on the front tail and a board burn on the left elbow, with reddish brown stains on the left front tail and right sleeve cuff. Though he represented the host New England Whalers and played in the 1977 WHA All-Star Game, Backstrom is not listed in the East Division roster in the All-Star Game program’s lineups centerfold, which is partially detached from the staples.
There are small reddish brown stains to the left of the numbers on the back and above the K in Backstrom’s last name.
Crease-free 1977 WHA All-Star Game ticket has a red “X” marked on the reverse.
