Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
It was a long and winding road for goaltender Eldon “Pokey” Reddick, through six different leagues including NHL stints with Winnipeg, Edmonton and Florida, and it was in circa-2000 when he was winding things down overseas with the Frankfurt Lions of the Deutsche Eishockey League (DEL) that the goalie used this handsome set game-worn catching glove and blocker. “Reddick” is embroidered on the cuff of each of these beauties, with the Eagle blocker showing puck marks throughout, and with the “Eagle” logo having paint flaking from obvious puck stopping. Everything is intact and shows no holes or tears. Pokey’s catching glove also shows marks, many on the outside but especially on the inside of the trapper area where he would grab those missiles with cat-like quickness. This catching glove, like the blocker, was made by Eagle, and has no holes or tears, with both gloves being a very attractive blue, white and yellow. Just an awesome pair of goaltender’s gloves from a fellow who donned the pads for 132 big league games.
