Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Terrific trophy plaque from the memorable 1987 Canada Cup, a series that offered the hockey world some of the best hockey ever played, as Gretzky and Lemieux led Team Canada to a narrow victory over a very potent Russian contingent. We've occasionally offered trophies like these in the past; they've come from members of Team Canada who received the mementos for their contributions to Canada's cause. This example is an "extra" that was never presented. The wooden plaque measures 7 1/2" x 11", while the chromed cast metal half maple leaf is supported by one-inch wooden bases. Condition is excellent, with small cosmetic defects. Dormant for the past 20 years, it's ready to liven up someone's life!
