This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
A pair of sculptures are featured in this lot of three 1970s NHL-U.S.S.R. Super Series awards from Pierre Larouche's personal collection. The Inuit soapstone carving is 6" long with a "NHL-NHLPA-USSR" plaque attached to the front and numerals etched on the bottom. Pierre received the silver-colored sculpture, which stands a shade over 5" tall with "NHL-NHLPA International Series" etched on the bottom, for taking part in the Canadiens' 5-2 win over Moscow Spartak at the Forum on January 6, 1978. The Lucite memento with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Soviet Wings, NHL and NHLPA logos is from their Super Series 1976 game. On his way to a 53-goal season, Larouche scored the Penguins' first goal in a 7-4 loss to the Wings on December 29, 1975. Comes with Pierre Larouche's signed LOA.
