Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

Hulking defensive lineman Jerome Haywood wore this gamer with the Ottawa Renegades in 2004, his third of four seasons in the nation’s capital before moving on to the Montreal Alouettes, then the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Edmonton Eskimos. Tagged in the collar as “04-48” (year and size), with “99” (his number) handwritten in red alongside, this Haywood gamer features the “92nd Grey Cup” patch on the right breast and the “Molson” patch on the left breast. This jersey shows great game wear, with a large and unrepaired hole between the numbers on the front, marks scattered about, particularly in the shoulder area, with torn material also in the shoulder area including an unrepaired hole on the right side. The “Grey Cup” patch has loose threading, and a small tear is on one of the front number “9s”. Mr. Haywood obviously took his job seriously.
