Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

What a fantastic combination - a 1986 Montreal Alouettes game-worn helmet, and an mid-1980s gamer worn by Montreal Concordes John Pointer. The game-used helmet, although manufactured in 1980, was worn during the '86 season in which Als' helmets showed the striped pattern and no number at the back. Pointer's game-used Concordes jersey from the early-'80s shows nice game wear, including several team repairs and an unrepaired hole in the shoulder areas. Collar has a "Saxon" label sewn in, and shows a size L, with staining evident along the white trim of the collar. The white rubberized name and numbers are showing yellow aging. The white shell of the game-used helmet has also yellowed, as well as the inside of the chin strap. Several ventilation holes have been drilled into the top of the helmet as well. Two classic CFL/Montreal football club pieces. Nicks and the odd scratch and marks on the game-used Als' helmet are noticeable from gridiron warfare, and all in all is a tremendously beautiful head protector. Wearer of the game-used Concordes jersey, John Pointer, originally signed with the Edmonton Eskimos after a tryout with the NFL Cincinnati Bengals, and after just one game with the Eskimos was dealt to Toronto. From Toronto, Pointer joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers before signing with Montreal in 1984 where he also played during the 1985 season.
